House fire in Meadow Lake Park, Hamilton Township (Update 6:30 p.m.)

October 28, 2007

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP — Two people were flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital Sunday afternoon after a fire at a home on Lakeshore Avenue off Meadow Lake Road in Meadow Lake Park.

The fire heavily damaged the home’s first floor living room, which West End Fire Company Chief Brian Snyder said was the main location of the fire.

Snyder said the cause of the fire is still under investigation and that three people were home at the time of the fire. The two injured people were flown to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation and burns.

Fire crews from Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder and the West End Fire Company responded to the fire around 3 p.m. on Sunday. Despite the heavy smoke and water damage in the living room and other parts of the house, firefighters were able to save the structure of the house.
