Firefighters rescue fall victim
December 17, 2007
Firefighters have pulled a woman up from a hill she had fallen down around 4 p.m. The hill was behind her home on Crest View Drive in the White Oak Estates development off Cherry Valley Road in Hamilton Township.
Firefighters from the Blue Ridge Hook & Ladder Co. and the West End Fire Co. used ropes to pull the woman up the hill, lifting her to safety around 6 p.m. after nearly 2 hours on the hill.
Neighbors said the woman had been sledding with her children when she slipped and fell around 75 feet down the steep slope of the ice-covered hill.
The woman's name and condition are not known at this time after she was flown by medical helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem.
